Context
About Sacred Greece & Halkidiki
This journey is built on a deliberate contrast: Meteora — the most spiritually charged landscape in mainland Greece — paired with Halkidiki, the three-fingered peninsula in the north whose beaches consistently rank among the cleanest and most beautiful in Europe. The two destinations are roughly five hours apart by road, but the change in atmosphere between them is what makes the journey memorable.
We begin in Meteora — the suspended monasteries of central Greece, six functioning Eastern Orthodox communities built between the 14th and 16th centuries on top of vertical sandstone pillars. We give Meteora two days, which is what it deserves: sunset behind the rocks on the first evening, sunrise visits to the monasteries on the second morning, and the time to walk the trails between viewpoints when the buses are not yet there.
The journey then crosses to Thessaloniki for an evening in the city — the waterfront walk, the old upper town (Ano Poli), and dinner in one of the meze rooms in Ladadika. From Thessaloniki we continue to Halkidiki — usually the second peninsula, Sithonia, which is the wildest of the three, with small bays of white sand and translucent water reached by short tracks through pine forest.
From €4,300 for five to six days, the journey includes the private vehicle and driver throughout, all nights in carefully chosen boutique hotels with breakfast (a Meteora property under the rocks, a Thessaloniki city hotel, and a seafront boutique on the Halkidiki coast), on-board Wi-Fi and water, and a small Greek farewell gift. The combination of sacred landscape and crystal coast is unusual in Greek itineraries — and is the journey most often requested by guests on a return visit.

In Their Own Words
From recent guests
“We took a private trip to Delphi with Gregory. He wasn't a 'taxi' driver — he was a host to Athens and the surrounding areas. Excellent and skillful driver, knew the roads to take when there was traffic, full of knowledge of Greece. Wonderful conversations and perfect recommendations for our stops. I fully recommend him.”

Private Day Trip to Delphi
“We were lucky to engage Greg at the Athens Airport after another driver refused to take us into the city. He was personable, gave us the lowdown on Athens, and got us to our Airbnb in record time through the back streets. We used him again for a trip outside the city for seven of us — flying colors. I would contact him again in a heartbeat.”
