Central Greece across two days
Delphi and Meteora — two of Greece's most iconic places, connected by mountain roads that cross the heart of the mainland.
Day one takes you to Delphi and through Arachova, continuing north to Kalambaka. Day two is dedicated entirely to Meteora before a scenic return to Athens.
This is a journey with rhythm — not rushing, but flowing naturally from one extraordinary place to the next.

Context
About this two-day journey
Delphi and Meteora are the two most photographed inland sites in mainland Greece, and they are roughly two-and-a-half hours apart by road. Trying to see both in a single day from Athens is technically possible but inadvisable — you would spend nine hours in the car for two short, rushed visits. The two-day private journey is how we recommend almost every guest experience them.
Day one leaves Athens after breakfast and reaches Delphi in time for lunch. The Sacred Way, the Temple of Apollo, the theatre, the stadium and the museum take an unhurried afternoon. The road then climbs north over the Pindos mountains, through the stone village of Arachova and on to Kalambaka — the small town built directly under the Meteora rocks — where you check into a boutique hotel with a balcony view of the cliffs.
Day two starts early. The monasteries open between 9 and 9:30am, and the first hour is the quietest of the day. You visit two or three monasteries (chosen by interest — each has a different character), stop at the iconic viewpoints when the coach tours have not yet arrived, and have a long lunch in the village before the drive back to Athens. We aim to be back at your hotel by early evening.
This is the most-requested journey in our catalogue, and the one we recommend without hesitation to first-time visitors who want to see Greece beyond Athens. Hotel, breakfast, all transfers, water and Wi-Fi are included; site tickets are settled on the day. Most guests describe the second morning, watching the sun rise over the rocks before the buses arrive, as the moment that justified the whole trip.

Questions, answered
It is the sweet spot. One day for Delphi without rushing, an evening drive north through central Greece, an overnight under the rocks of Meteora, and a morning of monasteries before the long return. Doing both in a single day is possible but exhausting and shallow.
In Their Own Words
From recent guests
“We took a private trip to Delphi with Gregory. He wasn't a 'taxi' driver — he was a host to Athens and the surrounding areas. Excellent and skillful driver, knew the roads to take when there was traffic, full of knowledge of Greece. Wonderful conversations and perfect recommendations for our stops. I fully recommend him.”

Private Day Trip to Delphi
“We were lucky to engage Greg at the Athens Airport after another driver refused to take us into the city. He was personable, gave us the lowdown on Athens, and got us to our Airbnb in record time through the back streets. We used him again for a trip outside the city for seven of us — flying colors. I would contact him again in a heartbeat.”
