Private Athens Food & Gastronomy Tour
A curated journey through Greek flavors
This is not a food tour. There are no clipboards, no crowded market walks, no twenty stops in three hours.
Instead — a carefully curated sequence of four experiences, each chosen to reveal a different dimension of Greek gastronomy. From traditional coffee rituals to refined meze sharing plates.
We move through neighborhoods that most visitors never see, guided by taste rather than tourist maps.

About Athens gastronomy
Greek food in Athens is not what most visitors think it is. The clichés — moussaka, gyros, dolmades — are real but they are also the surface. The city's actual food culture lives in small bakeries that have been making the same bougatsa for sixty years, in neighbourhood meze rooms in Psyrri where four small plates and a half-litre of wine cost less than a mediocre coffee in Plaka, and in dessert shops in Exarcheia that have never once translated their menu.
Our private Athens gastronomy experience is not a food tour in the conventional sense. There are no clipboards, no headsets, no group of strangers being photographed eating. We move through three or four carefully chosen stops over four to five hours, with proper time at each — a traditional kafeneio for Greek coffee and spoon-sweet, an artisan bakery, a meze table with seafood and grilled vegetables, a finishing dessert in a quiet courtyard.
The neighbourhoods matter as much as the food. We work between Psyrri, Plaka, Monastiraki and (when it suits the day) Kolonaki — moving by foot in the small streets and by private vehicle between districts. The driver waits; you are never carrying bags or worrying about transport.
From €380 for up to four guests, the experience includes the private vehicle and driver, all transfers between stops, on-board Wi-Fi and water, and a small Greek farewell gift. Tasting and meal costs are billed transparently — we don't take commission from any venue, which is why the food is genuinely good rather than chosen for the kickback.
A Day in the Life
The Itinerary
Late morning
Greek coffee & spoon sweet
We start in a quiet neighbourhood kafeneio with traditional Greek coffee and a vyssino spoon-sweet — the way Athenians actually start their day.
Midday
Artisan bakery stop
A tucked-away bakery for fresh bougatsa, koulouri, or seasonal pies — paired with stories of Greek breadmaking.
Early afternoon
Meze tasting — sea & land
Two carefully chosen meze stops: one seafood-focused, one centred on slow-cooked meats. Small plates, shared, paired with local wines or tsipouro.
Late afternoon
Refined dessert finale
We close with a contemporary patisserie or a classic galaktoboureko at a beloved confectioner — depending on what you've enjoyed most.

In Their Own Words
From recent guests
“We took a private trip to Delphi with Gregory. He wasn't a 'taxi' driver — he was a host to Athens and the surrounding areas. Excellent and skillful driver, knew the roads to take when there was traffic, full of knowledge of Greece. Wonderful conversations and perfect recommendations for our stops. I fully recommend him.”
